This restored farmhouse is a perfect country retreat, especially for those interested in visiting the nearby therapeutic thermal waters spa in San Casciano dei Bagni, an oasis about 10 minutes' drive away. The quaint stone farmhouse is perched atop a narrow, winding road (only small cars recommended), with spectacular views of Mt. Cetona. Your private vista is surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds and 100 acres of natural woodland. Enjoy dining outside on the spacious patio, or under the covered pergola.

Step inside the villa and you'll feel right at home in the spacious rooms decorated in regional style—the exposed wood ceiling beams and terra cotta floors add a country charm that is heightened by the warmth of two fireplaces (in the large living area, below the ground floor, and in the kitchen, six steps down from there). There are four bedrooms, all with air conditioning, en suite bathrooms, and satellite TV. Three bedrooms are located in the villa and another bedroom is in the dependence, accessed through a door in the nearby covered pergola (which offers easy dining and scenery viewing—with direct access to the kitchen, dining and living areas).

Villa Bella is a dream escape from the hubbub of the real world, hearkening back to a simpler rural life possible in medieval times. In fact, the incomparable medieval village of Cetona is a mere 15-minute drive away from your country home. The villa offers privacy with all the modern amenities of the 21st century. Enjoy al fresco dining on the patio and under the covered pergola. Spend afternoons beside the outdoor heated pool (16 x 42 ft). If you feel adventurous, the farmhouse is just a short car ride away the Chiusi rail station, or the Rome-Florence (A1) motorway.

What to do in the San Casciano dei Bagni region of Tuscany
Take a visit to the reknowned thermal spa in San Casciano dei Bagni. It was the Etruscans who first discovered the healing properties of the thermal waters in Val d'Orcia. In the 17th century, the renowned Medici family built a series of baths, which have been reborn as a luxurious new spa featured in Travel & Leisure.

The enchanting town of Cetona will charm you with its cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. This lovely village has grown in popularity as a home for international artists and socialites. Stop for an exquisite lunch or dinner at Osteria Vecchia (so good!)—you won't be disappointed.

Definitely worth a visit are Orvieto, Assisi and Todi. Head to Deruta to shop for the renowned local ceramics. Last but not least, make sure to check out the chocolate museum in Perugia!
